What it is

AionUi is an open-source, cross-platform Cowork application that puts AI agents to work alongside the user on their own computer. It is written in TypeScript and released under the Apache-2.0 license, and it lives in the AI agent and chat tooling ecosystem alongside the command-line agents it is built to host. Rather than acting as a plain chat client, it runs a built-in agent engine that can read and write files, search the web, generate images, and call Model Context Protocol tools, while showing the user every action the agent takes and keeping approval in the user's hands.

The concrete problem it solves is fragmentation and setup cost. Anyone who wants to use Claude Code, Codex, Qwen Code, Hermes Agent, Cursor Agent, OpenClaw, OpenCode, or the twenty-plus other CLI agents available today normally has to install each one separately, learn its own interface, and run it in a terminal. AionUi ships its own agent engine so it works immediately after installation with no CLI tools to install, and it also brings existing external CLI agents into one unified interface. It adds remote access through a WebUI and through Telegram, Lark, DingTalk, and WeChat, plus cron-based scheduling, so agents can run unattended around the clock instead of only while a terminal window is open.
